What to Explore

Highlights in Kuala Lumpur

Highlight 1

Petronas Twin Towers

Soaring 452 meters with 88 floors, the Petronas Twin Towers once held the title of world's tallest buildings and remain the tallest twin towers on the planet to this day. The Skybridge connecting the two towers at floors 41 and 42 โ€” the world's highest two-story bridge โ€” is open to visitors and offers breathtaking views across Kuala Lumpur. At the 86th floor, the observation deck provides a sweeping 360-degree panorama stretching to the hills beyond the city. At ground level, the Suria KLCC mall with over 300 premium stores, the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas concert hall, and the lush KLCC Park make this district one of KL's most captivating destinations.

Highlight 2

Batu Caves

Built on limestone that is 400 million years old, Batu Caves is one of the most important Hindu shrines outside of India. A gleaming 43-meter golden statue of Lord Murugan greets visitors at the entrance, while 272 vividly colored steps lead up to the Cathedral Cave โ€” the main cavern lit by natural light pouring through a 100-meter-high open ceiling. Inside, a Hindu temple complex over a century old remains an active place of worship. Every February, Batu Caves becomes the epicenter of the Thaipusam festival, drawing millions of pilgrims from around the world โ€” one of the largest religious celebrations in Southeast Asia.

Bukit Bintang

Bukit Bintang is the beating heart of Kuala Lumpur โ€” the city's most vibrant district for shopping, dining, and nightlife. Along Jalan Bukit Bintang, iconic malls line the street: Pavilion KL with its international luxury brands, the enormous Berjaya Times Square complete with an indoor theme park, and Lot 10 famous for its celebrated basement hawker hall. As the sun sets, Jalan Alor transforms into a lively open-air food street โ€” rows of outdoor stalls serving char kuey teow, satay, and fresh seafood well into the night. Over at Changkat Bukit Bintang, colonial-era shophouses have been reborn as rooftop bars, gastropubs, and cocktail lounges, proving that KL truly never sleeps.

Central Market

Standing since 1888 and housed in a stunning 1937 Art Deco building, Central Market โ€” known locally as Pasar Seni โ€” is the cultural and artistic soul of Kuala Lumpur. What began as a traditional wet market has evolved into a vibrant heritage landmark: over 350 shops across two floors offer batik, woodcarvings, pewter, and handicrafts from across Malaysia. The Art Lane within hosts 10 active artist studios, while the Malaysian Batik Gallery celebrates the beauty of batik as a national textile heritage. Throughout the year, Central Market hosts cultural performances, craft demonstrations, and art exhibitions, inviting visitors to experience the full richness of Malaysian culture in one historic space.
